Sustainable Energy and Enterprise Development for Communities or SEED4Com is a non-stock non-profit organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines. It is founded to provide help in improving human conditions and empowering poverty-stricken areas, rural and last-mile communities in the Philippines.
It traces its roots as an initiative organized to support the groundwork for Project Enkindle in helping those devastated communities affected by Typhoon Haiyan. SEED4COM addresses grassroots gaps to spur restoration, rehabilitation and sustainable growth focusing on clean energy solutions, capacity building and rural entrepreneurship as key enablers of rural community development.
SEED4COM implements its advocacies through the following initiatives:
Sustainable Energy – Project Enkindle, Hero of Light, Eco-Tabang solar lamps
Sustainable Environment – National Clean Up Day Coalition (Formerly Let’s Do it Philippines), Eco-bricks Philippines
Sustainable Entrepreneurship – SEED4COM Social Enterprise Unit, Farmer’s present
Sustainable Communities – Through education initiatives (CERTAmbayan, CERTAmbayan Community – Personal finance, investments, a gathering of professionals giving free advice to the public) and Zero Waste Academy
